SS-31 / elamipretide

A mitochondrial-targeted peptide with one narrow approved product indication.

Peptide & blend guide

The short version

Why people discuss it
AxonRep’s community research identifies broad interest in SS-31 for mitochondrial function, energy, recovery and aging. The approved evidence is much narrower: Forzinity is indicated to improve muscle strength in people with Barth syndrome weighing at least 30 kg.
What it is
SS-31 is the research name for elamipretide. Forzinity is a specific elamipretide hydrochloride formulation; an internet product labeled “SS-31” is not automatically equivalent to the approved drug.
Biggest caution
The FDA label reports frequent injection-site reactions and warns about hypersensitivity. Approval used an intermediate endpoint under accelerated approval and does not establish anti-aging, recovery or general energy benefits.
Stack context
MOTS-c and NAD+ appear beside SS-31 in community mitochondrial stacks. The Forzinity label does not validate those combinations or authorize transferring its dose to another product.

Dose and frequency reference

Reference only — not a recommendation. Amounts describe source-specific community examples, selected study regimens or the named product label. They do not establish safety, effectiveness, product identity, or a suitable dose for any person. Never convert mg, mcg, or IU into syringe “units” without the exact product concentration.

Source agreement describes reported practice, not clinical validation.
