The short version

Why people discuss it
Used for weight management in eligible patients. This overview focuses on Wegovy; its label includes weight reduction and long-term maintenance alongside diet and activity.
What it is
A GLP-1 receptor agonist. Injectable and oral products have different doses and schedules; the numbers below apply only to Wegovy injection.
Biggest caution
Common effects include nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. The boxed warning concerns thyroid C-cell tumors; personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2 is a contraindication.
Stack context
Wegovy labeling advises against combining it with another semaglutide product or another GLP-1 receptor agonist.

Dose and frequency reference

Reference only — not a recommendation. Amounts describe source-specific community examples, selected study regimens or the named product label. They do not establish safety, effectiveness, product identity, or a suitable dose for any person. Never convert mg, mcg, or IU into syringe “units” without the exact product concentration.

Source agreement describes reported practice, not clinical validation.
